Dr. McClane completed his undergraduate studies at Southern Illinois University in 1996, followed by his dental degree from the SIU School of Dental Medicine in 2000. During his time in dental school, he distinguished himself as both a leader and scholar. He served as a student senator, earned recognition as Worthy Master of the Delta Sigma Delta fraternity, and contributed to research focusing on in vitro human bone growth. After earning his dental degree, Dr. McClane served as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Department of Health and Human Services. This role allowed him to develop extensive experience in public health dentistry while serving diverse communities. He later became the Dental Director of the Seminole Public Dental Health Services Program, where he served for eight years. In this position, he was responsible for overseeing dental care delivery and improving access to oral health services for underserved populations.
